Shame that isn't a half n half image like autosport ran when the rules were announced.

Just need a front and a top-down view now...

Loads of technical illustrations of rule changes here:

On another tack, the new Force India looks...strange?

Maybe it's their colour scheme but it looks clunky aft of the nose and out of proportion at the back.

Must say i like the new tweaked livery on the Merc with it's lines within the teal areas.

And the first car to not go with the sharkfin.

Is the rear vertical stabiliser now defacto on the cars?

Yes - the rear wing is lower and the back of the car disturbs the air more , so the shark fin helps direct the air more smoothly. It can also counteract yaw.

Potentially because it was so windy at the unveiling, to avoid embarassment if it got too windy and pushed the car around. Is expected to potentially have one by Melbourne

both points covered here:https://drivetribe.com/p/fFRt-VZaRTGoLN_ejMVSSQ?iid=J15OMP0tQ82dBZKbRidsQg

Yet... Come the first test there will undoubtedly be new wings front and rear and quite probably a fin. I just hope it's not as nasty as the Mclaren or the Force India.

Yeek, did McHonda pay the Walkinshaws for their old colour scheme?

It looked a damn sight better on the Arrows.

And the Arrows actually had some big sponsor stickers on it, unlike McHonda,

Yeah they've gone back to the original McLaren colour but should have added a lot less black.

Mercedes and Ferrari the best looking so far. Then Renault / Sauber.  McLaren and Force India the dogs of the bunch.

And here is the Ferrari against last years:

Testing today all running along doing the laps except... McHonda.

Remember 2 years ago when it wouldn't run...well the new engine won't either. Zero timed laps for Alonso - still waiting for an engine change to be completed.

History repeating itself - 2nd Honda engine lasted less than a lap as well. :giggle:

There'll be a game of pass the Hara-Kiri sword in Japan tonight...

The Batmobile has finally managed a timed lap (yes just one), jumping up to 9th fastest. (that's 8th fastest car since both Merc drivers have had a go)

McHonda did chuck supersofts on it to get it up to 9th place though.

Wondering how fast the new cars are?

Hamilton is already a second faster on softs than the fastest car at last years first 4 day Barcelona test (Vettel on ultra-softs)
