I'm just about to purchase my first ever Skoda.

 

I'm recently retired.

 

I had a mixture of cars in the 60's & 70's - Various Morris 1000's, Triumph Spitfire, Ford Cortina 1600E, Daimler V8 250, Triumph 2000.- all serviced & repaired by me (Engines, Gearboxes, Suspension, Brakes, Bodywork, etc.)

 

Then I had a few company cars - Vauxhall Cavalier's - Ford Sierra - Ford Mondeo ST24 - Vauxhall Omega 2.5

 

Then I started running my own car for company business

1998 Ford Monde 2.5V6 Ghia Estate - 7 years - 270k miles - Same clutch, home serviced

2003 Volvo V40 1.9 Diesel Estate - 7 Years - 230k miles - Garaged serviced

 

Time for a change as the turbo is leaking oil on the Volvo....

 

What should I buy????

I settled on a 2008 Octavia Elegance 1.9 TDi Estate with 67.5k on the clock.

 

My annual mileage has dropped to about 12k so I'm hoping for many trouble free years.

 

Oh I forgot to mention that I also tow a small caravan around 1,500 miles each year.

 

Looking forward to scanning you pages so I can pick up some tricks 'n' tips on various aspects of Octavia ownership.
