Welcome to the best forum on the net for all things Skoda

Nice looking motor, I'm waiting for mine to arrive sometime in March - I am moving from the 160 TDi to the 220 TSi as the numbers didn't add up for me only doing 15k a year. DSG box is great too. Have gone with white also, think it suits the new shape.

Looks like you have the 19" wheels - I was tempted but due to the poor road conditions I have gone for the std 18" - spent too much money having my existing diamond cut ones re finished.

Enjoy your new car, and keep in contact.

Hi Smudgers thanks :)

The wheels are in fact the standard 18" L&K alloys. I too was tempted to look for one with the 19s but after test driving this one I decided I wouldn't want the ride any firmer. The DCC in comfort mode with the 18 inch wheels is just perfect for motorways, and even in sport mode it's much nicer to ride in than my current car - a 2014 Megane estate GT Line... the GT Line trim has renaultsport suspension and chassis which are excellent for cornering / agility etc but terrible for comfort!

I'll probably end up spending a lot of time here on the forum...apologies in advance :D

No need for apologies - our forum needs activity - the more the merrier.

I'm very pleased with those being the std wheels for the L&K - It should be what I get - I thought (incorrectly obviously) that they had a single color finish.

Already you are educating us/me :)

No worries, yes I believe they are completely standard :) here's the photo from the Simpsons advert so you can see them better...

Very nice car that, i tried a 220TSi DSG, that was an SEL, drove beautifully. I didn't want diesel as do less than 10K miles a year.

Order placed New Years Eve and heard from the dealer today, car built and on it's way to Emden in North Germany.  Now for the next long wait to delivery.

Can't wait.  Went for a Superb Combi 280 L & K.

Wow, so you've gone for the beast :) that'll be worth the wait

I really was tempted but I simply wouldn't be able to afford the running costs :o

The white and the anthracite wheels looks really good. I've plumped for the plain alloys and petrol blue as I think they match better.

That's pretty good turnaround, still waiting to hear where mine might be:speechless:

I really like this.  I was just actually looking at a white 280 SE L  on Autotrader which I think looks the dogs:

I tried one and that was it, just had to have it.  The 4 wheel drive is nice, but the power was astonishing.  Although I have gone for paddles on the steering wheel, you really don't need them.  Just put your

foot down and she is away, the end.  I don't really don't do many miles, walk to the office and the wife will take it to work now and again during the week.  We have an Octavia 2 FL, manual 1.8TSi, that has been a great car.

So I kinda looked at the running costs and they really weren't that much more than a 220TSi, which I loved as well.  ;)

That is very nice and not much more than I paid for mine. Are those wheels original? Never knew you could get those, happily I do prefer mine tho ;)

It was very quick to be honest, was surprised hearing what others lead times are.  The 280 is not a popular engine, not like a diesel 150 or 190 or a 1.4 TSi.  I really wanted to get the order

in and car built.  It was the car I had set my heart on.  Also you are never sure when they might drop an engine choice, especially since the FL version comes out later in the year I believe.

I did a search on this and the pictures I was seeing suggested that I prefer the sharper lines of the current one.

Yes, 19" Supernova wheels:

It's going to be a long couple of weeks for you.  I collect mine on 4th March but it's at the dealers now, so I feel your pain....

Yeah that sounds good, 4x4 and paddles are things I'll miss out on with mine, but my commute is 30 miles each way on flat motorways so I guess I don't need 4 wheel drive. Would have liked paddles but my partner has them on her A3 cabrio and tbh they never get used...

Well this is a picture I have seen come up a few times!

Ah I see, 'face-lift' I didn't realise that's what you meant by FL. Looks nice that but only minor tweaks which is good for me as it won't let my new S3 look old ;)

IMHO if this is the real facelift no offence but It looks uglier than the actual model. All is possible we have the unfortunate example of Octavia...

Sorry been enjoying it all day haha it's absolutely amazing, such a luxurious drive but the 220 has a ridiculous amount of power when you want it :) just been to drop someone off at home and the AFS is so good on dark country roads. I've gone with the green theme for now...
