Exact build date of my Fabia

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how to find the exact build date (month, day and time) of my 16 plate Fabia please?

10 march at 16.50 it left the production line

Chap called Dave put the final badge on

I am joking of course and also curious why you need that information

Skoda UK might be able to help

You can find out via erWin but it'll cost you 7 euros plus VAT.

I found my manufacturing date using the Skoda app:

iOS

Android

On iOS, open the app, tap on the "burger menu", "Vehicle", then "Vehicle" again and "Vehicle data".

I'm mainly curious as my dealer didn't set my service date correctly at the pdi and the car is shouting SERVICE! at me every time I switch it on and off. I'm also an anorak for this kind of thing ;)

Novak put the badge on by the way.

Got the android app, plugged it in to the car but it's greyed out where its says its the best way to get info.

Manually added the VIN number and that doesn't work either. Is it because I use android auto?

Seems strange

I think you only plug in if you have smartgate option

I don't have smartgate and popped the vin in and It came up

Double check the vin

Mine is TMBFM6NJ1HZ******.

Checked and double triple checked but to no avail.

Rick, to be honest, I don't know...

Try clearing the application data (including cache) and enter the VIN manually instead of connecting with Smartgate.

Manually adding the VIN number doesn't work. I'll try a reboot when I get chance.

I don't have smartgate (as far as I know). Why's that?   I use Android Auto.

Can't help then

Curious though do you have factory navigation ??

Or do you use android auto for navigation ??

If you have navigation factory fitted you can check vin on the update portal

I have got smartlink I checked. I plug the android phone in for Google maps navigation,Google play,Amazon music and Spotify.

I have giffgaff unlimited data plan.

It all works great with voice control.

SmartLink is not SmartGate.

Link is the screen mirroring for your phone- Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and MirrorLink.

SmartGate is a separate module plugged into the car's CAN bus system under the passenger seat. It allows you to connect your phone to a WiFi hotspot which then allows apps access to specific data about the car.

As to why the app is being awkward when you type in the VIN- I have no idea. It worked fine for me (also on Android). I didn't plug the phone in or anything, I just put in the VIN. Try going into the application manager in settings and try deleting all the app data for it.

You're right I've not got SmartGate.

I managed to do it and it says November 2015! Does that make sense? Do others have a day or is it just a month of build?

I wanted a 16 plate so it must have been standing around waiting somewhere?

The oil service warning was showing as 3rd February so it mustn't have been reset for 1st March by the dealer.

So to summarize car built November 2015,delivered to my dealer 3rd February 2016,first registered 1st March 2016.

I've since discovered that the spanner can be shouting SERVICE! up to six weeks before it's due.

Mine says 31st July 2016 build

Registered date 09/2016

When I ordered it on the 23-8 they told me it was on the boat already as a stock car

Something's not right then,as I don't have a build day.

Would Skoda UK give me the information over the phone?

Might do got to be worth a call

What is odd at built at the end July, on the boat in August and first registered in the UK September?

Mines definitely not doing that. I think it was giving me generic information. The app just won't take the VIN number.

One reason could be that it is a ringer? (only joking - I hope) - remember, if you have not reached the max oil mileage, the "days" are something like 372 and not 365.  I seem to remember that my wife's August 2015 Polo started giving out "service now" warnings very early, when I checked the date due it was given as early, which all added up to the counter not being reset at PDI, ie it was left as starting at "build date", I just took that onboard and handed the car in when it was properly due a service.
