Hated seats

Featured Replies

The drivers side heated seat is not working ,how difficult is it to fix or is it a garage job? Cheers all.

Depends on the cause really. Fuses and relays would be the obvious place to start troubleshooting. After that check the switch. Scan the controller for fault codes too.

If it's the heating element then you need to strip the covers off the seat to remove the element: from looking at the service manual it's a tedious job but doable if you have some mechanical skill.

I am also presuming that there is a plug and socket connection near the seat. Has that become dislodged.

I had mine changed two months ago. Cost 232 euros at dealers.

Same issue with my Superb, both front seats not heated. Checked fuse, this was OK. I than suspected the control module which is located underneath the chair next to the cable connector.. I had to remove the chair and shove it backwards in order to access the module.

Once removed it appeared to be faulty as there was lots of corrosion/oxydation around its contacts, possibly caused by damp. Prior to this operation I had ordered a new replacement module at ebay for € 20,-. Once swapped modules seat heaters worked again. Total amount of work; 2 hours.

After reading the thread title I wasn't expecting this, I was just about to defend the seats in my Superb :D

You don't have to remove the seat to change the module.
