Yeti Business Edition - no off road button?

Best check out vehicles at Dealerships and see for yourself.

Yes you can fit 2 bikes, bike type dependent with wheel on or front wheels removed.

Does your friend need a short car or would a TDI / DSG Skoda Octavia Scout / Seat Leon X-perience possibly suit if available in their budget?

I think I may have a squiz at that to be honest - it looked really nice though I haven't taken too much notice of them before but it would afford me a lot more space potentially. I would just need to make sure it can accommodate those items if/when I needed it to but from what I have read the Octavia appears pretty peerless in the space stakes for cars that size.

I think the appeal for him is the overall package of something like the Yeti to be honest and part of the attraction is the relatively short footprint. He started off looking at the Citroen Berlingo type stuff until I told him our friendship was over if he bought one  :).  I suggested a Yeti without knowing much (nothing in fact) about them but have read many good reports and another friend knows an owner of one who has nothing but good things to say about it.  I know it's gonna be a bit of a leap of faith for him in buying one and, having spoken to him briefly yesterday, I think the major obstacle is cost based on the spec he wants.  He's home next week so I'm going to butt out of that one and he can do the rest of the legwork himself

Citroen Berlingo does a very good job of space and function,

but a long way off from fussy, Top of the Range, Leather, DAB, AWD / DSG / TDI etc.  Trips to snowy places, towing etc.

Another option would be to buy a used Columbus satnav, pretty easy to fit I believe. I know a couple of people who have done this, one in a Yeti, one in an Octavia.

I am sure you're right. I just have a very deep mistrust of where the French and electrics come together :)

What i am questioning is where you said 'He is pretty particular  about his cars'.

If anyone needs a MPV / small people carrier then there are French ones that are used as Taxis and converted as VAV's that do high miles and are very reliable,

and ones that are Front Wheel Drive but come with trick traction buttons that cope well with Continental Europe Winter Conditions and tracks and light offroading.

Peugeot do some suitable vehicles / Cross Overs.

I'd suggest asking in the relevant Octavia section.

Depends which head unit is fitted in the Yeti. If it's one of the older Yetis then it's a simple enough swap with the addiditon of the required antennas and trim surround. It it's one of the new Yetis with the MIB based Infotainmet system then it gets a little tricky. The wiring quadlock is different and needs an adapter, the antenna is different on the roof (I believe, but I've not actually done one yet), and there might be some coding issues fitting a Columbus and getting it working correctly. I had a retrofit just like this set up and ready to go a while ago (albeit non DAB), but the owner of the car decided he'd rather spend the money on something else after I'd paid for the loom adapters etc.
