Service Update - car now LHD!

Featured Replies

Have just had the first service done at 21k miles and found everything reset across large parts of the Columbus system settings.

The annoying one is that the car locking system now thinks it is a LHD model.  The locks are set to 'single door' and it works fine except the door that unlocks is the front passenger door!

A return visit now seems to be needed.  No setting I can find swaps it back to the correct door.

If yours is in for work, and includes updates etc, check everything is as it should be when you get it back.

Possible test for "LHD" setting (assuming there isn't a setting for this) - Ignition and radio on, switch ignition off and open "front passenger door", radio unaffected, open driver's  door and radio should switch off. Also dipping of passenger mirror with reverse selected?  and is there a left/right setting in dynamic (????) lighting?

Another thought - I wonder what the logic is behind seat belt warnings and the driver's seat empty

That's the weird part.  Apart from the lock system, everything I have now been through is (or appears to be) correct.  None of the measurement units were changed, but data was cleared, seat was in the wrong place, but now isn't (both keys have been used), lights are correctly set for U.K. roads.  Just the locks have swapped over!

The only other work done has been to the tailgate radar (virtual pedal uses it apparently) - which still doesn't work and is awaiting an action list from Škoda UK to the Dealer.

I ran out of time to fine-tooth comb check it as I found a nail in the left rear whilst swapping Winter to Summer tyres over. :-(
