Error code P2015 "sensor for intake manifold flap position" fixed with aluminium bracket.

Hi Would this work on my mk2 Octavia vrs facelift? Code popped up last night. Is it just the 3 bolts to take off the motor arm?

also will there be a spring at the back of the motor arm?

I have attached some pics below if anyone can assist.

Thanks

This pic you show is the throttle valve or anti shudder valve. It sits below the egr valve. It is not the intake manifold flap position sensor.

this sensor is up a little on the right next to the head.

mine had the Same code as yours and fitting the bracket was simple and has worked perfectly for over a year now.

it is an easy fix as long as your intake is the aluminium one and not the black plastic one.

Where'd you source the bracket from?

eBay, can't remember the seller.

was £27 delivered.

Thank you for letting me know, thought I’d give it a go myself and save some £££, how did you get the bottom bolt undone as it’s quite close to one of the pipes?

Your picture is the right side of the flap motor housing. The three screws you need to undo are on the front.

Try not to drop anything and be careful with the spring that is on the motor arm

this video is very useful, it gave me the confidence to do the job myself.

you can only do it this way if you have the metal intake manifold. I believe if you have the black plastic intake you have to remove it to do the job??

hope this helps and saves you a few pounds.

Mines the plastic manifold so will it be the three front screws?

My 2008 vrs cr170 showed this fault a few days ago. Found this thread which was super helpful, bought the adaptor from https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/2-0-tdi-common-rail-swirl-flap-repair-kit-p2015-fault-aluminum-manifolds.html And fitted it. One word of advice, be very careful not to drop that spring. Took me longer to fish it out from behind the oil filter than to fit the part. Engine light went out on the second restart of the engine. Thankyou.

I have the same issue but I’m not sure if my car has the plastic manifold or the aluminium one? My car is a vrs tdi 60 plate if anyone can help I would be grateful.

Pop the bonnet, take a picture and post it here?

Ok il do it tom as it’s p****** down here at the moment. Thank you for your reply mate👍 Just been out in the car and the light didn’t come on once after 4 ignition turns!

Well I tried one of these brackets and it didn’t work so this week I’ve fitted a new motor as they are only £55 quid. I spent ages trying to fit the motor back on with the bracket dam fiddly. Replacing the motor took only 15 minutes. And worked.

so I took the old motor apart and this is what I found.

On next posts due to media size issue

Inside we have some coggs. The bottom one has the end stop which looks like it acts a gentle spring stop and also over time no longer stops it in the center. See how it is pulled to one side.

Close up. I take it fitting a bracket stops this.

The fully open position at the other end of the cog is the same.

If you fit a bracket. Note there are two on ebay. This one is the better fit, and easier to fit out of the two as it grips in place. I have both.

With the bracket fitted the clog sits in this position when at rest.

Exciting stuff I know

Better bracket.

Hello mate. The 2 brackets there are one is for the plastic manifold and the other is for the aluminium one is that correct?  Is it worth fitting the bracket I have to my new manifold/ motor just so it prevents issues in the future or would you not bother? I see what you mean with the wear n tear on the motor

Nope there are two brackets available for the aluminium one. Do not know about the plastic one.

I haven’t bothered with the new one. But the bracket shown in my photos is the better one of the two available for the aluminium one.

Ah ok, I have the plastic one unfortunately they are a bitch to work on as my mechanic said!! Can’t wait to have my car back up and running.

This is probably a silly question so your have to excuse me for asking 🤪 but is the gasket the red bit on the manifold that is all ready attached? In the box there is the manifold only no screws etc

I wouldn’t know

Cars all done totally different to drive the power is continuous not in n out like it was before well 😃

I have got this issue on my 2012 Greenline diesel, I have the plastic casing version, I have tried searching for the kits to limit the travel but haven't had much luck - I would be really grateful if anyone has a link to a supplier of either the kit or replacement as I have been quoted ridiculous prices for the whole manifold.

Thanks in anticipation

Afternoon, I ended up having a new manifold on mine but I managed to find it online from a dealer (can't remember which one now) but I paid around £450 give or take and then plus labour total bill around £700, think I may still have the plastic bracket in the shed somewhere as I bought that hoping it would be an easy fix!

Thanks for that! I was hoping to avoid the£700 as the car is getting on a bit and has done 150k. I will try again to source a bracket 🤞🏻if yours jumps out of your shed, I’d gladly buy it off you.
