scraping noise

So.... we're for mot this weekend. Let's see what the mot man has to say. Still no change with the noise! Still there. Still grinding - scraping away, whatever the hell it is!

I wonder if it's been the very small backing plate rubbing on the edge of your brake disc as/when you turn?

If your car still has them of course!

Ah yes thanks Ricardo, I do remember reading that now. Couldn't remember reading a response though which I have now checked for.

I wonder too if the strut top mounts drying out or even breaking up would cause this? I have heard a dried out rubber suspension bush making odd noises before.

Well there you have it!

MOT'd yesterday and given a clean bill of health! Not one advisory...

Wee car lives on for another year!

Still no idea what the noise is!!

However... I'm starting to hear what I believe to be a gearbox grumble when going down the gearbox, especially from third in to second.

I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Thanks for all your input Ricardo, and everyone else.

Sorry to hear you have not found the problem noise I am not wishing to make fun but you could always turn up the radio me I am very little left of my hearing so it has its advantage that is why I have had my Felicia for 18 years and it always sounds so quiet and I just love the old girl. Add our years together and it comes to 91 years.

Do you think it is scraping noise related? Or just the subject of a new topic?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'll just have to monitor the situation for a while.
