Yeah, and get dazzled just by opening your car door. :rofl:

No doubt that would melt the light fitting. :D

They wont... LEDs dont generate heat :)

Jason,

My dipped bulbs have gone quite a few times in the 2 year's since I've had the car (The anniversary is Sunday, IIRC!). Last lot were from Halfords and were quite frankly ****e - on one, the 'wire' coming up to the base of the bulb (where it meets the spade connector) hadn't been trimmed - so when you pushed the power connector on, you buckled the exposed pin and broke the solder joint!

Fixed it myself, and it lasted maybe 8 months before finally going. Now got some philips ultra wotsits from powerpulbs (same place all the external bulbs on my car came from!)

Really? - I assumed that putting 100w buklbs into the LEDs would cause muchos chaos... But that's why I'm not an electrician. :rolleyes: - Although I did managed to fix a halogen bedside lamp whose switch was screwed. Joined two cables and wired in a new switch to the main power cable. :D (and it didn't catch fire)

Nice to hear another "philips ultra wotsits" recommendation from powerbulbs. :thumbup:

Can't beat wotsits, mate :thumbup:

LED = Light Emitting Diode

LEDs dont give off heat, are incredibly efficiant so dont use much electricity. and last pretty much forever.

The law on car lighting states that the maximum output of a car light cannot exceed 55watts (i think)

headlights = 55watts

tail lights = 12watts

brake and rear foglights = 22watts

in cars of old, (like my cavalier) to put more powerful headlights in would mean having to uprate the wiring for them. but thats usually not the case now.

BUT. in my own personal opinion, i wouldnt run 100w bulbs in a modern car, especially with the "clear lense" nature of modern headlights.

like it says on the Speeding website, those LED sidelights are not E-marked. so they are pretty much illegal.

but then again, so are neons, and those stupid blue washerjet lights.

just my 2 penneth :)

:cheers: Colin

If I get the 100w main beam bulbs I think I'd better inspect the lights on a regular basis to keep my eye on any little black marks appearing. :D

I'm gonna order the vision plus' on Sunday, so I'll get them some time early next week. :thumbup:

I guess (also) if I do run "illegal" bulbs, I'd better damn well keep the standard ones somewhere in the car for the inevitable time some local bobby, who has nothing better to do, pulls me over. :(

jason if you dont want the 100w fogs i would be more than willing to take them off of Jons hands :D

I don't want them for my fog lights. :D

PM sent. ;)

cheers mate time to start blinding people :thumbup:

...and melting my entire lighting system - Probably worth checking what fuse is in that system and see if I can get a more uprated one shoved in... Time to break out the manual again. :D

it will be fine jason your headlights might flicker in time with your sub though!
