How to remove the roofrailings

Featured Replies

considering chrome roofrailing. Who's got experience with removing the roofrailings? For example how can the plastic cover in the picture be removed without damaging? I started with the red plastic insert but did not dare to insert it further!?

thx

Anyone swapped their roofrails for metal finish versions yet?

If the headlining is removed arn't the Roof Rails bolted on

Unbolt old ones, bolton new ones ?

From memory (seeing on other forums) some VAG cars have the rails bolted in and can be removed, other's are also bonded and apparently once the factory bond has been removed you risk water ingress when you try to refit them.  Not sure about the Superb 3 though.

indeed roofrails are bolted from below, and headlining needs to be removed/puncturerd

Headlining must be removed to access roofrails screws.

Be sure of what you want. Chrome roofrails often shows milky spots that can’t be removed, whatever the product you use. 😤🙄
The trend would be more oriented on glossy black ones.
