Just wondering how much bhp I'd get and what type of remap is best performance for my 1.6tdi monte?

realisticly they remap to around 140bhp. Some claim 150+ but it's simply not true.

 

Plenty of places do them now so have a shop around, shark performance for example.

Is this with a stage 1 remap? I'm aware there's different stages that are available... would anything more be to much for it?

Stage 1 map, stage 2 will require other upgrades bigger intercooler and turbo as well as exhaust work

 

forgot to mention mine went from 75bhp to 130bhp

playing it safe had it at 135bhp

Had mine done with Superchips, opted for the bluefin so I could remove it when it was in warranty. Got 142hp and 261lbft when dyno'd

pretty sure the stock map was 120bhp? According to them, so take the 15bhp off they are over reading which will give you a 135bhp map, spot on what it should be

More-BHP is what I have! Got it done by VRT (VAG Specialists) in Slough who are a dealer for More-BHP Maps. The engine runs fine, smoother and got that mid range grunt which is always good! Its supposedly meant to help increase the MPG's too but I haven't gone back to commuting yet to no comment but I can get anywhere from 35-45 in the city and my journey back from getting the map done it was 57. 

 

Handy tip, always use Shell etc.

Don't ruin it lol

In almost all cases a 105ps (103.5bhp)  vehicle is going to have that figure as the Minimum output not maximum seeing as in the UK it is not going to be higher than 4,000 ft above sea level or in extreme high temps or humidity & running decent fuel.

 

So even if only able to put out 110bhp before 25 more horses are found you are at 135 BHP.  

but then Dynos before and after are important just incase the factory engine management is giving you 115-120bhp.   Not unheard of.

I know mine is a 1.2 tsi petrol but was quoted as an 84hp but the before dyno showed it to be at 89 with the remap at 121hp.
