Change Km/hr to MPH

Ashaz

Recommended Posts

Hi all, newbie here.

I've just got a new Yeti and can't see how to change the digital speedo from Km/hr to MPH.

The instruction in the manual doesn't work for me :(

I've googled, Youtubed etc but some people say it's impossible and others say it is but don't say how.

Anyone know?

You need to change to the region to Australia

Welcome

You need someone with VCDS to make some changes before the large MPH will appear.

Look in my signature for someone local to you.

Ok, thanks.

Just picked up my Yeti and I would like big MPH in the Maxi Dot!

Anyone near Warrington (WA3) with VCDS who could do this for me?

I have a Pro Scan V400 I used for diagnostic codes and resetting codes on my previous Skoda Octavia, would I be able to change the region to Australia with this.

It is in the attic somewhere. Or do you need a more professional tool to do this.

Doubtful as that is just a generic code reader, you need something capable of changing codes

@KBPhoto whilst not exactly next door is your closest VCDS owner

I'm only just across the water in Strontian and am only in Fort William occasionally.

I'd be happy to change the display to mph if you wanted me to using VCDS.

I've only done one before, but it was successful first time.

Message me if you want to arrange to meet up (although this is the first time I've been on here for quite a while - must get back in touch with a few people again...)

Not sure why changing the country to Australia would help because we use kilometres as our unit measure here???

Agreed maybe no one told VAG that you changed to french measurements a while back!

The digital display is the other one to the country it's in, as standard in England it displays KPH so in Australia it will display MPH which is what several here want.

Hi I am a newbie also looking for the same thing doing to my yeti 4x4 170 and also the fancy needle thing at start up anybody near Barnsley South Yorkshire that could do it for me?

If that's all you want to do, you could buy and OBD device and make the changes yourself using the Carista app.  It worked for me with a Bluetooth OBD device and Carista on an Android phone.  For Apple devices, if I recall correctly, you need a WiFi OBD device.
