wee trip to Ecotune to see how much power he's making now
36858967152_9178dc795f_c.jpg

tried to get it strapped down but turns out my car was too low and they had to take the undertray off

When the car was dyno'd when i bought it at Awesome GTi  after 2 tanks of vpower and 32,000 miles it made 115bhp and 202 ft lbs.

25k of miles of vpower now sitting at 56k it made 119bhp and 220 ft lbs not bad considering it should be 103bhp and 184ft lbs

New Performance figures

Been slowly buying up parts to increase the performance of it.

All it needs is an turbo back exhaust then we should be good to go.

Can't wait

Took the car up to Crail at the weekend last time on this turbo.

Managed to get my times down to 16.052 @87.5mph and 60ft's down to 2.2 seconds. Still didn't make it down to the 15's but close enough i suppose. Managed to beat a Civic Type R and an A5 aswell as my mates Fabia TSI. Also with abit more time with the car managed to get 0-60 down to 7.98 seconds and managed to pull 154.5 MPH on a trip to Germany logged on a VBox Sport.

Also Registered for the first 2 rounds of the Scottish Road Car series at Ardeer on the 14th of April and Knockhill on the 28th of April. Should be interesting but i think with the turbo and it being a diesel it might struggle.

After that then the cars away to have its bigger turbo and intercooler fitted then mapped by ADE Tuning in Blackburn.

Can't wait to see how the next stage in this car goes

Before the new turbo goes on I've decided to give this motorsport malarkey a go and enter the first 2 rounds of the Scottish Road Car series, A sprint series for Road Legal cars which involves driving the car to the event and (hopefully) also driving home.

Should be interesting in a diesel hatch with a 2300rpm powerband and with grippy tyres that are so grippy the rear wheels wont lock on the handbrake.

First Round is at Ardeer this saturday with the next round being knockhill on 28th of april with a decent entry list. Bricking it doesnt cover it!

Couldn’t have sounded that good it’s still on a standard exhaust for now :D

First round of the Scottish Road Car Series today. Had fantastic fun with my mate Craig who was in his Leon Cupra Estate.

Spend a few times walking the course and it looks like you had loads of room till you actually drive the course! Started off on Course 2  Hit one of the pylons on the first run because i was being too fast and too aggressive. By run 3 i had slowed it right down which gave me more time to move the car and ended up faster. Handbrake doesn't lock the rears hence the oil tanker turning circle.

Run 1

Run 2

Run 3

Course 1 was much faster and and better for my car again kept it in first gear the whole run. Had issues with the Go Pro so only got 1 of my 3 runs

Course 3 was a combination of both course 2 which then went into course 1 absolutely love this.

Run 1

Run 2 last run of the day this time i had the confidence to go for 2nd gear at points. Should have done it earlier as on the run between course 2 to 1 and down the dip then back up it i was 5 mph faster!

Run 2

Looking forward to the next round at Knockhill now!

Also flicking through some of the records on the Crail website im sitting 2nd overall in the up to 1600cc diesel class.

Round 2 for the Scottish Road Car Series at Knockhill today run by Glenrothes Motorsport Club. Managed to get my test 1 runs done in the dry before it started pouring down with test 2 being wet. 18 cars entered and managed to come 8th.

Run 2

Run 3

Test 2
Run 1

Run 2 Carried far too much speed into the right hander after the Hairpin and esp kicked in at the wrong time but was the fastest run.

Run 3 .1 slower than run 2

comparing run 2 and 3

extra run
