Dashcam..... Hardwired Install Question....

Evening all,

Thinking of getting a dashcam for the Citigo but having seen how confined the fusebox is under the steering column I'm wondering if someone can shed some light on how they have hardwired a dashcam into a Citigo.

In my Barge the fuse box is at the driver's end of the dashboard behind the removable end panel. There's no interior cover for the fusebox itself, (once you have removed the dashboard end panel), so you can easily use a piggyback fuse to hardwire in the dashcam supply. In the Citigo though the fusebox has a cover and I must admit I'd say you wouldn't be able to use a piggyback fuse and still be able to have the cover on the fusebox.

So..... Am I right in this theory? Is anyone able to provide pictures or info on how they have hardwired a dashcam into the fusebox of the Citigo?

Sorry it's no help but I wondered the same.

I have my Dash Cam in my 12v socket (Seat Mii) with the cable nicely concealed under the interior trim. Tbf it works a treat, is no problem and if I need my socket for any other reason I just use an adaptor.

Yes I would prefer a hard wire but rather than start messing around with the electrics I've opted to leave it this way.

Harry.
