Yes maybe water pump issue? If it is have a word with your Skoda dealer as you're out of the warranty period I assume. Some have got a contribution from Skoda UK as this is a design fault

@Vrs72 - Are the fans starting when the engine starts to go on heat? They will start (at least on slow) when you put the AC on but that is not what I mean.

You may pay for the diagnosis initially, but you will be able to argue for this cost to be reimbursed if the water pump is at fault.

The timing belt interval on the EA288 Diesel engines is 5 years / 140000 miles - if the water pump fails before this, it has failed prematurely, and under the Sale of Goods Act (upto 6 years in the U.K.) you are well within your rights to challenge this. Don't accept partial payment - you should be entitled to the full amount. If not, pay in full stating 'paid under protest' on the bill, ask for the failed pump to be retained so that it can be subjected to an independent engineers inspection report (stating this alone usually gets a change of opinion) and challenge via the small claims court, clearly explaining that you will also request all of your costs to be reimbursed.

In addition, ask for you case to be reviewed by the executive team at Skoda UK.
