Skoda Superb Sat Nav Trim and Airbag Module

Featured Replies

Hi I am new to the forum and own a 2011 Skoda Superb Elegance Estate, it was broken into a number of weeks ago and they stole the whole sat-nav unit (smashed the window damaged the doors etc).  The Insurance repairers have a new sat-nav unit but they are saying the trim around the original unit is broken and this houses a small airbag module which they are having no luck sourcing from Skoda, it's on a factory back order and there is no date when it will be sourced.

Does anyone know of another way of sourcing one as I use my estate for work and the courtesy car is a small compact size vehicle and I miss my lovely Skoda?

Thanks in advance any advice greatly accepted.

The surround contains the warning light for the airbag not an airbag itself. However, this will set off an airbag warning light if it's not plugged in as it sits in the airbag network.

Can they not refit the piece of broken trim until a new replacement can be sourced? How badly damaged in the trim?

I'm assuming you had the Columbus satnav fitted. There is a high demand for these units on the black market and unfortunately it's becoming more and more common to hear about these thefts.

How damaged is the airbag warning light? It only has 2 clips that hold it into the trim and the wiring harness.

Here's the surround. Link. Part number 3T0 858 069

If you need the airbag light then that's separate.

Guys thanks for the speedy informative replies, thanks to the information you have given I spoke to a Skoda Dealership today and they confirmed the trim and airbag light where available in the UK despite the Insurance repair garage saying they where on a long back order.  You are also right that the trim contains only a light and not an airbag module as I was told and again I have pointed this out to the repair people.

Thanks for the part numbers they where very helpful and be warned the Police told me the Columbus units are being stolen to order and it took the scumbags less than four minutes to break in and remove the whole unit.

Once again many thanks and what a great forum.

All the best

Mick
