Do the 2.0 tfsi engines drink juice ?

Featured Replies

The mk2 Octavia vRS TFSI should be 200ps, the diesel version is 170, I think. I have only driven the face lift vRS diesel, with the 170 common rail not the PD version.

We had a Octavia vRS TFSI and a Fabia vRS 130pd at the same time and the Octavia was a fair bit nipper than the Fabia. The Fabia weighs a good 150kg less than a Superb as well.

The Octavia TFSI makes about the same torque as the Superb 130 TDi, give or take 5Nm. The Octy is also lighter, so it should be significantly quicker, it may just be the way the 130pd delivers the power.

The 2.0 TFSI (BWA engine code) has a fairly wide power band, the turbo starts to pull fairly early on, we loved ours. Fairly good on fuel, only thing that kills them IMO is the road tax, its nearly £300, or it was when we sold ours. We had ours for 4 years, and apart from the common A/C compressor failure it was very reliable.

What are the signs of the a/c compressor going?

I'm sure when I was looking at tech specs on autotrader some petrols where 170bhp as well as 200bhp , maybe I'm getting mixed up with diesels . I might have test drive a few more , I test drove a diesel version and I remember it just gliding up to 90mph fairly quickly and the car felt like I was doin 40mph because it was so smooth and quite . maybe its because I'm use to a bit of sway and bouncing from my superb from the suspension being it for comfort .

Also prior to this ive had vauxhalls and old 1980s golfs , so when driving at speed you felt it lol
