Android Auto on Columbus

U241170,

Initially downloaded the beta Waze from mirror link above version 4.27.0.0. - all worked fine

Then yesterday unistalled beta and reinstalled full version from play store - version 4.27.0.1 - again all works fine

You may have tried this - when AA starts you have the basic screen possibly showing any audio tracks on phone. At base of screen there are a few icons. The one on the far LEFT is an arrow. If you hover your finger over it another small arrow appears - press this and you should get the option to select either Google maps or Waze.

On using Waze in AA it looks like they have not implemented the full function set yet. I can't see any speedo (some cams are shown though) and you doint seem able to access account details etc.

Good luck

You can get Waze for AA now on PlayStore for none Beta users.

Blindek,

I agree as per my earlier post.

Its version 4.27.0.1

tried it already, after you explained how to work with AA. it works. thank you.

Not "knowing" Waze and having tried it this morning I'm underwhelmed with it.  Am I missing something ? - as far as I can see under Android Auto there is no access to menus, no alerts and it is solely a simple "sat nav".  I presume pressing the red circle icon that then opens a new screen is to report "incidents" and not to switch on alerts that I set up on the mobile app.

You may have to go into the settings in order to get all the functions you want... can't remember as it's been a while. But you get speed camera/police sitting on the side of the road/hazzards/etc warnings plus a ton of other stuff. I find that if you enable everything the screen gets too busy with stuff so I only enable the ones that I find important (i.e. cameras, police, speed warnings).

I had issues with Android Auto for ages... get yourself a decent flexible USB cable like this one:

I have not had a single disconnection since I purchased this and it connects first time every time :)

Purchased this in advance of the car - works great, not a single problem connecting.  Thanks Rob

Hello,

Superb 2016, Columbus MIB2. Android Auto works, but when I try to search for destination in Waze, it always displays "Not while driving" even when the car is completely stationary.

As well if i try Customize among AA icons.

I already tried to change Waze permission on phone for Location to Allow all the time, but still same issue.

PocoPhone with Android 13, latest Waze 4.107.0.1

Could you please advise?

Also, if i jump from Android Auto to Car or Radio or any other screen, is there a faster way to switch back to Android Auto than clicking Car, scrolling among icons and selecting the Android icon?

Thanks
