So I collect my new SEL Executive Hatch in 5 weeks time and I'm curious about 1 thing. The brochure described 'High Functionality Rear Lights'. Can anybody please tell me how these might differ over the default "Low Functionality" Rear Lights. I've looked almost everywhere and I can find the information on this out. I'll post some pictures when I get her.

There are some old threads about this, like this one.

The rear red LED positional light (aka americanised 'tail light') is C shaped. With "High Functionality" the upper segment extends into the hatch (both Hatchback and Estate).

When the S3 was initially launched it caused confusion as it was listed as "tail lights high" and only for the L&K but, although not shown as such in the first brochures, the SEL actually had them too.

The S, SE, and Business/Technology do not have theses illuminated segments in the hatch.

You basically get one more LED on each side, the light strip on the portion of the tail light attached to the boot lid...
