Deff claybar to get the crap out of the paint. Then a good polish and wax/sealer top coat ;-)

Any recommendations on brands/products to use?

In the Bodyshop we juat used ordinary T-cut ( beige ) on polisher. If you can get your hands on one it will do a perfect job.

Just slow to start, keep feeling the panel for heat so you dont cut through the paint. Pick up the speed for the shine and finish with Autoglym resin polish.

If you do this shout first and I will talk you through.

Btw, i mean a grinder style polisher.

Get a DA polisher, I bought one to do my new black fabia and it makes a huge difference. The steps I used are below:

Wash & dry

Clay bar whole car (i used bilt hamber)

Wash & dry again

Meguiars ultimate compound on a DA polisher

Autoglym Super Resin polish

Poorboys black hole

Turtlewax

Autoglym Extra gloss protection sealant

Comes up a treat, beading is soooo nice

I use the clay bar from bilt hamber, then  black hole glaze from Poorboy's(ideal for dark colours).topped with a coat of Poorboy's Natty's paste wax.   Also used lime prime from dodo juice for a prewax clean, removal of light swirl marks etc.

Thanks, yes I would but your a bit far lol.

Took 2 days almost to do it but wanted to make sure it was done properly, my theory being it shouldn't need this treatment again for quite a while if done nicely.

Problem with black cars is they show up everything!

Got to sort some engine bits out next

Loved my little 1.2 so hoping Ill love the vRS even more. Great cars IMO much more interesting/better made than an equivalent Golf or Polo

I agree, my previous car was a 120d coupe loved it but I had to change because I brought a house but I must say I'm not disappointed

Was just wondering if the 312mm brakes are worth buying..... and do you need to change anything on the hub to make them fit??

You need the calipers and carriers and new discs and pads. That's it.
