PD 2.0 TDI 170 BMN Injector Problem/ 23H9 recall 2017

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

i have just just bought a used Octavia VRS TDI with the BMN engine. The car seems to have a bit of a rough idle and I think it cut out whilst driving yesterday. Started up again fine and been fine since. Having done research on here and on the 'net, these were due a recall back in 2012ish which is well documented on here. I can't find any reference to the 23H9 recall in the service history or book and there are no recall stickers under the boot floor. Having spoken to SUK customer service online, they say it's not flagged for the recall but can't tell me when it was done.

does anyone have any experience of the recall this far on from the original dates?

I have a pd170 vrs . There could be a number of reasons for the poor running, dpf failing, egr valve gunked up, plastic inlet manifold has small cracks and coked/loose swirl flaps .

Over the last few years I have sorted all these and the car runs like a dream .

You could go to your local dealer and ask if you car needs injector recall but I would guess it's been done as they would of failed ages ago.
