I tried the leak fix and TBH did bugger all. Best get saving a new rack - FYI don't buy the cheapest on euro car parts. First one was out of line which caused the sensor to pop up errors and stick it in limp mode - really fun on a roundabout when you steering decides to go on holiday! Second rack lasted a few days then dumped the whole lot of steering fluid over the road... seals failed again - both racks were refurbished units from Q drive. Best get a Remy Version. Still recon but better Qual checks.

 

Given the fact that any New or Reconditioned rack is always sold with a surplus to pay which is refunded upon the return of your old rack. On that basis the old racks are re furbished so it must be possible to buy the necessary seals so as to replace them yourself.

Skoda do not list the seals as a spare part, but obviously someone makes them.

Has anyone found a seal kit for a Fabia VRS Mk.1 and changed the seals themselves. Got to be much cheaper than a rack.

How will you get the rack apart to change them?
