  • Dont forget Tesla is yet to make a profit on any cars they sell....   Ford, GM, VAG etc are not as clueless as people think.... They all offer some form of electrification or clean-tech

  • I was considering a C350E Estate, but will now keep my Octy for a another year or two before jumping to pure EV. I think the hybrid-window is now rather narrow, and that EV's such as the Tesla 3 will

Have you considered BMW i3 REx? I think it's the only viable hybrid worth considering. You get benefit of mid-range EV, and have a tiny petrol engine to fall back on.

The i3s looks like a good city car, about the right size and range. Sadly ruled them out due to cost - auto Fiesta was about £15k new, i3 New was £25k plus. That's a lot of fuel!

Other EV cars were more like expensive dishwashers on wheels at the time - only now they're starting to catch up with build quality and dropping purchase prices. With the right battery tech (Tesla) there isn't the concern with battery longevity so maybe good used ones in the future, but would need the market to have plenty available to be financially worthwhile compared to buying/leasing new. Look at the price of used Teslas :-/
