I have looked at a few old brochures and you are correct in that all dsg's are stated to have hill hold as standard. Can't understand then why the nearly new 66 reg car I test drove did not have this working? Can it be turned of in maxidot; can't say I have ever looked for that option?

I don't think it can be turned off?

You can pull to a stop with a DSG and have a light pressure on the brake pedal and not have the Hiil Hold Assist activated.

As you can with Stop / Start when enabled.

The beauty of 'Auto Hold' is you can have that active on models with that now, and no sitting with foot on the brake pedal, and with it a light touch will engage, and if there is movement the Auto Hold applies more braking pressure.

Auto Hold, Electric Handbrake, Stop / Start & Coasting Function are the greatest things since Garlic Bread when all working correctly.

A Manual Hand Brake and Hill Hold Assist just great on the likes of a Yeti when winter comes IMO.
