i've been reading this also, something around the abs kicking in and retardation of the throttle electronically?

Not sure exactly how it works but, I couldn't get any axle tramp on the way home although, the roads were dry & during the car's current on-going warranty work, I'm not running the tunningbox.

I'll try a bit harder to provoke the axle tramp over the next few days & see.

So, 10 days in, here's my verdict.    The good definitely outweighs what's left of the bad. Well worth the purchase!    All the bad points have either gone completely, once the bus

i think the VCDS mod was working on audi and golfs? im not sure ill go see if i can find it again.

yes its related, something to do with torque control. I'm sure i read the abs/esc kicks in on the fly under hard acceleration to limit torque/throttle to control wheel spin.

What about in reverse ? I still notice vibration mostly in reverse.

it is calming down as time passes.

im hoping it calms down a little more still though.

I am surprised you have less vibration from an Ali insert than from a poly one.

That is counter intuitive to me.

Thinking about it, maybe it still has small gaps to let the Bush move a tiny bit at the original soft setting to lose the vibration  before locking up solid to stop the tramp.

I thought so too re: alu. vs. poly, but I do have a lowered, firmer ride - so it could be that I've not noticed it. But my other half (princess/pea etc...) hasn't noticed it either...

In reverse, perhaps a bit more? If there is, it's nothing that has specifically drawn my attention to it, so it's not as invasive. Maybe try one out - you can chop and change pretty easily :)  (about £40 ordered through my garage).

@maul didn't you go with the harder poly insert also?

The design of the poly vs alu insert is different - the poly fills more void, so it might vibrate more?

I can only comment on the alu one, since it is what I got and never tried the poly.

Yes I went with the yellow one and not the  softer red that says its for diesels, despite reading go with the red in some audi forum.  Going to wait a bit longer to see how it settles down before I make a decision on what to do next.

I do love the lack of axle tramp though its worth a tiny bit of vibration and increased deep engine growl is better than fake engine noise in my book

Experience is something you gain right after you needed it. :p

Tyre spin just becomes 'spin', and not *REVthunkthunkthunkthunk*. I believe this is the scientific term...

Best description EVAH! :) :) :) :)

cant wait to get mine on i was getting some revthunkthunkthunk when driving on roads semi covered in snow and eventually getting grip and losing it again. very annoying.

Which one are you going for?  Report back.

I got the 034motorsport should have it fitted Tuesday.

i've installed the dogbone today on a diesel and have to say the noise is more noticeable, much more of a growl from the exhaust in the cabin but on on firm acceleration. No wheel spin yet (have to take it easy while bedding in the new discs and pads) but it does feel a lot sharper and when i did push it towards the end of 50 mile commute i did loose grip but no hop at all. A good set of tyres would make the world of difference.

On the noise, its much more bearable than the fake generator probably because of the fact i know its not fake. twin rear box is next on the list.

Found a gem from China:

BILLET ALUMINUM MQB DOGBONE MOUNT INSERT MKVII FOR VOLKSWAGEN GOLF/GTI/R, 8V FOR AUDI A3/S3/RS3
http://s.aliexpress.com/a6JRNjEZ?fromSns

I have not tried this particular one, so someone else needs to be the guinea pig :)

It kinda looks like the one I had on the Octavia so... Might be this is a bargain.

Ignoring the questionable quality etc of these Chinese version. Can any of these be used on a stock O3 estate with 2.0cr and dsg? Would you actually see a benefit or are they reserved for the modified community?

if you get wheel hop then it will be a benefit. There's a new APR stainless one which has less flex. Particularly spirited drivers have noticed some bend after a period if hard use.

Just ordered the poly insert. Went for this one as it's a longer insert over the billet on. My thought process anyway. See how it goes when it arrives

Anyone with the dogbone mount 034 motorsport or the APR billet stainless steel have you noticed no wheel hop whatsoever? & if you have a DSG have you noticed the down shifting from gear 2 to gear 1 (i.e smoother down shifting & up shifting) Is the NVH better or the same.

I try most of the time not to shift from traffic lights but on the odd occasion you sometimes do & the wheel hop is so annoying, purely for this reason is why I would change the dogmount but also another factor is for better or smoother shifting points (up or down)

Cheers.

both, the shift isn't as noticeable (but im in a manual) as the lack of wheel hop, i can honestly say i have no hop at all anymore even after fitting new F1 AS3s all round, and its been bedded in about 2 months.

getting one of these is on my list of upgrades

Do you find it noticeably louder with it in? A few sites do feel the powerflex one keeps the produced noise down (though not completely gone), without harming the intention of the insert.

I wouldn't wish to solve one issue and create myself another

its supposed to be more noticeable in a diesel.  I noticed a small increase in noise on acceleration but not at motorway speeds at all. Its even better now its bedded in.
