MY18 Superb Random Queries

Featured Replies

Hey Guys

Couple of queries for MY18 Superb.. New to it.. and Hello from Aus..

1) How do you see the odometer when ACC is on.. when it's off odometer can be seen but when its on that is replaced with the Cruise Control indicator

2) Tailgate hatch open close via keyfob / console button via OBDEleven - I can't seem to find the settings to do so..

3) Can the maps etc warn me on speeding? TomTom has that option.. I think its on in Superb but not sure if it works.. I think its too small..

More queries to come soon..

I think, only if you have the traffic sign recognition option.

1/ Not seen any way of doing this... I have not look too deep for it with VCDS / VCP though

2/ Not possible with OBDEleven or VCDS, currently there is no new file for MY17 / MY18 either.

3/ Look under the infotainment / maxidot as I know I can set this on my L&K... however it is very annoying so it got turned off very quickly.

Bummer.. Thanks guys.. hate the fact that I can't see odometer when ACC is on..

Anyone has MY18? The phone box for qi charging seems ridiculously small... Can't even fit my S7 without a case

I have Waze but use iPhone for primary phone and Waze is not on CarPlay... And as I understand once I go AndroidAuto I can't use my iPhone for calls etc..

its, seems like Skoda like to make things that we (their customers) would think would be normal Skoda consider not so. Any way,

1. Is the trip readout on in the lower right of MFD not usefull as an odo ?

2. As Gizmo above

3. IF you have Columbus System check this link LINK TO POI post Its quite long but talks you through the setup and installation of speed cams - I know its not exactly what you asked but may come in usefull. Waze in Android Auto (AA) at present does not have the Speed displayed on the cars screen. Not sure about iPhone but my Samsung Galaxy has Waze working with AA and I can still make / recive calls. Failing that as Gizmo above - I had it set for about 2 miles and turned it off, you can have visual or visual and audio warnings.

Looking at the rubber mat, that phone box does not have wireless charging installed.  The rubber mat should have a company logo or qi logo on it (can't remember which as I've only tried one in another car). Also with the correct wireless charging pad my s7 edge fitted fine.

I am thinking the same and trying to get an answer for it from dealer.. I believe it should have been included..

As far as I'm aware you cannot charge any current iPhone models using any wireless option unless you have something like this: -

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-Charger-Laniakea-Charging-Receiver/dp/B00Z2M3H7Y

The foil sticks on the back of the phone and the lead plugs into the iPhone's Lightning port, I believe that the iPhone 8/X will have wireless charging as a feature.

SO much easier if you go Samsung (just make sure the charger box is fireproof!)

Looks very much like a Samsung in the photos to me, not an iPhone.

Unfortunately for the OP, it also looks very much like that's just the standard cubby, and not the wireless charging box.

this is how my wireless charging box looks like.

i have a MY17 Mar 2017 build.
