MY17 VCDS adaptations

Featured Replies

Had some help from Micloi today with some VCDS adaptations to my MY17 Octavia Scout.

We struggled to get the passenger mirror dip in reverse to work, although we believe it's all been coded correctly.

The other stumbling block was with the High Beam Assist function, as the second step in Controller 09 is not editable.

Has anyone had any success in making changes to MY17 vehicles? Happy to offer mine as a guinea pig...

What I’ve done so far:

- rear lights as DRL

- fan speed in auto mode

- LED ‘eyelashes’ as DRL

-  traffic sign recognition (although I’m not 100% sure it’s working correctly)

- misc maxidot changes/additions

- twin rear fogs

- increased activiation delay of headlight washer jets from 0 to 2 seconds.

I had held off trying High Beam Assist as I wasn’t certain it’d work. Was just a gut feeling, nothing more. Didn’t bother with  mirror dip either as it was pants on my pre-FL so figured it would be on the FL as well.

I used OBDeleven btw. Same methodology though.

- twin rear fogs Had considered, but due to changes in naming conventions in VCDS, have left for another time.

My car certainly reads and displays traffic signs but it was showing two errors when I did a quick scan.  Maybe it was just something erroneous.  I’d need to check it out further.

I had @WayTooTall try to do the High Beam Assist for me at the National meet, he said it would need the next release of the VCDS software, as the address points were different.

BTW if you are struggling with the reversing dip try it with the mirror controller set on L, I don't know why but, mine needs to be there to work.

Yep, The current VCDS couldn't read the long coding off the module.

You don’t have a FL though so it’s irelevant.

The Thread title states MY17, mine is a MY17 build,    No mention of it being a FL thread  :shake:

Mine was built at the end of April, so assumed it is a MY17 build. It is a FL O3.
