Rough Idling and low RPM, with video!

Featured Replies

Hi all!

So I've used the search function to no avail...

My problem is that my car has recently developed a rough spot in it's rev range. It sounds like a vibration and is most noticeable between 1200 and 2000 rpm. It still pulls fine, just makes an awful noise.

Here's a youtube video:

It is overdue a service by a couple of months, so maybe it's just that. Any thoughts folks?

Thanks!!

standard exhaust?

sounds like you might have a reverb coming from the exhaust system, have you gone over it checking the rubbers are still soft on the hangers.

heat shield loose?

Yeah it's all standard. Not checked anything yet. So do you think the exhaust might just be transferring it's vibration in to the cabin if a rubber mount has gone hard?

Anyone else got any thoughts?

Solved!!

The air intake leaf collector lid had fell off. A snap fixing has died, so I've reattached and all good.

DOH!!
