Shark Fin connections to Columbus...

Featured Replies

I have a 2012 Superb Elegance with a Columbus Sat Nav unit and BT phone integration...

Had the dreaded 0/x sat nav issue but after reading on here bought a £5 GPS unit off eBay, Fitted it no problem and have it stuck using the magnet on to the top rear of the Columbus with no issues.

Question though...  My rSAP bluetooth connection still works great and gives full signal (woohoo)... but I was under the impression the GSM aerial was in the Shark Fin.  I've now disconnected the original FAKRA connector to the Shark Fin so I'm wondering how the Columbus is connected to the GSM aerial???

The pin-out diagram for the connectors on the back of an RNS510 make no mention of a GSM aerial connection.. would I be correct in thinking there's an aerial connection off the back of the BT unit?

Cheers

The GSM connection is from the Bluetooth unit under the drivers seat. You didn't disconnect this so your GSM connection is still active.

The GSM antenna is in the rearmost left side window.

All the Superbs I've changed aerials on have the GSM connection on the rear aerial,
