Door Switch...

Featured Replies

OK where have they happen the little switch that pops out when you open the drivers door? Mine seems to be stuck in as not triggering interior light, door lights and most annoying, the lights left on buzzer!

Cheers

I think it's in the lock, an eletrical switch. Think you need a Techy...

Yep its built in to the catch, central locking modual thing.

It went on my passenger side so it never recongnised the door was open. I replace it with one from a scrapyard.

Hi all

I too have this fault with my Octavia Estate 2.0 52 plate (28k), only mine is on the drivers door.

It would appear that things are not as they should be with the drivers door. A few months ago the door lock wouldn't lock or unlock whilst using the remote keyfob. From what I have been reading on this forum it looks like I will have to sell the car in order to pay for all the faults that have conviniently appeared since the car went outside the OEM Warranty.

And now the interior light will not come on while the Drivers door is open. (no indication on the dash either)

Is this door catch easy to replace and any idea how much it may cost new?

I can see the bill mounting up for what is supposed to be a reliable car. Whats to say that any replacement is going to fail shortly after is has been fitted?

Have skoda got a 'complaints' (sorry im mean CUSTOMER) hotline? Does anyone have any positive feed back from SKODA on why their cars appear to be unreliable?

Lovely - shame about the problems

Grateful for any advise you guys can offer.

CIVI

If you think your Skoda is unreliable don't buy a Peugeot, Fiat or Alfa then!!

You may have a few problems but Skoda were 2nd in the manufacturer category with Fabia and Octavia joint 4th in the 2005 JD power survey.

Don't be down hearted and ask around on here, people will be able to help.
