DPF Regeneration in Progerss Dashboard Light or MFD Notification Ideas

Featured Replies

Hello All,

A few weeks ago we swapped our 10 plate Yeti 1.2TSI for a 62 plate 2.0TDI 110PS. My wife uses it mainly for short (sub 10 mile journeysj at present. The plan is for me to use it on a daily basis from next summer. So far I’ve used it once a week because I travel around 25 miles to & from work which should help keep the DPF fairly clear.

Twice I’ve stopped the car after a reasonably short journey to find it’s in the process of a regen. My question is why don’t (Skoda, VW, Audi, Seat) have a warning light or a message which appears on the MFD which lets you know it’s started the regen process & maybe even how long it’ll take until it’s finished. That way you could carry on driving (assuming you have time) until it’s completed the regen. This would assist the driver & hopefully extend the life of the DPF.

I know you can get an app & along with a Bluetooth adapter you can look at the DPF, but the average person won’t want to go to that trouble.

Thanks in advance.
