DPF removal

Those 1.9 Diesel Fabia were a success story for Skoda in the UK during the production and one of the best Skoda models at holding their value.

Quite a following of enthusiast.  A roller skate in that it was an economic vehicle to run with decent handling.

Usual issues obviously of steamy windows, but hey ho VW Group never got to grips with rubber & H20, keeping it in or out.

Of course, I forgot that Skoda once made a Diesel powered roller skate.

They did of course only make one model that could bear the vRS badge with dignity.

Yup, a great roller skate when all things considered. We don’t all have to make up for something with a big, loud boat :D

I'd go as far to say the the 1.9 TDi PD lump was one of the best engines to ever come from VAG.
God I miss my MkI :(

My pre PD tdi 1.9 was/is brilliant. They are utterly indestructible u less you're very very unlucky..

I was not told anything about DPF`s when I bought a 1.6tdi in 2011 by the dealer. I accept I should have researched more. Gone back to an 2009 1.9tdi MK2. I will keep it as long as I can. Its a great car.

Whilst i have not read through their own article Petrol Prices stated in an email today that over 1800 drivers have been fined between £1000 and £2500 for removing said item, since 2014.

If this info is in the first link then I'm just reminding you, Lol.

Edit:- actually another piece of enlightenment from BBC News today is, if you are a non smoker and stroke a pussy that lives in a smoker's house,

Does the pussy smoke??? and i don't mean if you drop your fag on her, Lol.

^^^ Who fined them?  Courts in England / Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland?

Was that a press release from the DVSA that media published?

The DVLA / DVSA / DfT can not Fine people, they impose penalties, unless the Registered Keepers were Prosecuted in Court and found guilty.

'Could be fined £1,000'  So have 1,800 been fined, or 1,000 even?

£1,000 up to £2,500 for vans.

^^^ No idea bud. It was just in an email as i have alerts from them.

Have a look on their site if you like. I had a quick look to see if they got the info from a newspaper, but i could not find anything.

Yes they say 'Thousands of motorists fined for removing diesel filters',  or the Author Sasha Davidson did,

i wonder if thousands in the UK have actually been fined for DPF removal.

The Donald might claim Fake News.
