Washer bottle leak / Pipes leaking

Featured Replies

Now winter is here, time to address my leaking washer bottle, any tips on locating connecting tubes to front / rear jets. Very compact space, just thought I’d post on here to save me tinkering under the bonnet in the wrong place.

Thanks!!

best access is from nsf wheel arch. remove 4 torx screws and pull back the liner. you will see the pump and connections easily then

In cold weather it's important to use correct screenwash mixture as the pipe connectors will pop off if the washer fluid freezes.

The pipe to the rear washer has four connections.

At washer pump...

At bulkhead in engine bay, close to ABS unit.

This pic is my car and shows Halfords 5mm vacuum hose used to sleeve pipes instead of using the original pipe connectors which I hate...

Behind side trim at N/S rear seat (5mm tube can be used as a sleeve here too)...

Not necessarily a leaking bottle. The pump itself or the grommet holding the pump can leak. It's a right bugger to replace the bottle as the nuts holding the plastic lugs in are usually corroded and you end up mangling the plastic. Try and find what is leaking first before changing things. Don't buy the cheapest pump. They are rubbish. Got a half decent febi bilstein 26259 Washer Pump from Amazon for about £15. You need to get a new grommet from Skoda to hold the pump in place.
