Columbus MY18 bluetooth issue (constantly disconnecting)

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share the simple fix of a problem I might not be the only one to experience.

I have a S3 L&K, with the new Columbus touch screen (MY18).

A few weeks ago, the bluetooth started to act funny. It disconnected and reconnected itself randomly.

The problem is that it was bugging me like hell when I was talking to someone on the phone, cuz it took 15-20 seconds before my correspondent could hear me again.

And it cuts the music too, when I am playing music via bluetooth.

I thought it was related to the dampness in the footwells (see my other post), because it appeared roughly at the same time.

But it was not related.

By the way, my phone is a BlackBerry KeyOne, on android nougat.

I found the solution when browsing the CrackBerry forum.

So it might just be the interaction between the S3 and the KeyOne.

Just in case, if another strange guy has a KeyOne like me : the solution is to go in the bluetooth device options (gear cog symbol next to the car name in the bluetooth device list) and to uncheck "Contacts" and "Messages".

It has been working fine since. No disconnection during phone calls, nor when playing music via bluetooth.
