Diesel worries

Featured Replies

Hi all, i’m New to this site and trying to decide whether to get a yeti outdoor se 1.2 tsi dsg or an elegance 2.0 diesel 4x4 dsg. The four wheel drive is appealing although I am worried about what will happen with diesels in the budget, any thoughts?

Despite the percieved worry about diesels particular in the media, my experience is that people are still buying them both new and nearly new. At work I know of 3 people who have purchased diesel recently. 2 nearly new and 1 brand new.

I think for the time being, personally I would go with what you prefer driving. I enjoy the torque characteristics of a diesel engine and fuel consumption. I have noticed however more cars on 67 plates that are now petrol that in the past were predominately diesel. EG Golf and Volvo V40.

Incidentally there was an article on the BBC recently stating that CO2 was on the increase in the atmosphere which was one of the reasons that many of us went over to DERV.
