Tyre size

Featured Replies

Hi all, does anyone know if the 19' Extreme wheels which I have on an RS 4x4 will take a 235 profile tyre.  They are fitted with a 22/35zr19 88y as standard  This size actually gives quite a limited choice of options compared to a 235 profile. TIA

Yep, my next tyres will be 235/35/19's

235's fit without any need for new wheels or spacers.

PITA cos Mitchell PS4S don't start till 245 in 19's

Yea I’m runnimg 235 on mine no probs

Depends on P&P plus the fitting charges but I agree, it seems very reasonable

You have to arrange fitting yourself. Camskill don’t fit (unless you’re close to them) and it’s not a BlackCirlces operation where they team up with garages. Very much up to you to arrange fitting.

Their range of tyres is vast though.

Same as others, I'm running 235s on my 19s, but I've gone for Goodyears. They cost me £142 each fitted.

Good price on the Michelins.

The vredestein ultrac vorti are 107 on oponeo and I’d put them on a par with the Goodyear but they are less fuel efficient.

Are the Gemini and Extreme alloys the same width?

So theoretically 235/40/18 will fit on the Gemini wheel?

Yes, both are 7.5J so would be fine. Very slight increase in overall circumference but nothing to worry about.

I'm running 235 35 19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports when not on winter wheels.

Hi guys, I am interested in this topic,  I have a 63 Octi estate, and i am looking for advice, I am looking at, if not set on upgrading my 17' alloys '235/45/17' to 19' , I am trying to find if 19s will fit with ease, and specs, if anyone could kindly help me. Cheers.

19's will fit no problem provided the PCD, offset, width amd tyre sizes are correct.

I'm surprised you say you have 235/45/17's, that's highly unusual, or did you have them fitted?

OEM spec for 17's on an Octavia should be 225/45/17 or 225/50/17 on a Scout. 235's will fit ok of course.

If you are looking for 19's, go for either 19 x 7.5 with an offset of around 50 for OEM spec, or 19 x 8 offset 45.

If you want the wheels to sit more flush with the arches, I'd look at 19 x 8 offset 40ish. Or 19 x 7.5 offset 35ish.

PCD for Octavia is 5 x 112.

Tyres are 225/35/19 as standard, but as above, I run 235/35/19 with no probs.

Hi, query on 225 to 235 tyres. I have almost brand new 225 pzeros on the front of my vrs tsi and cracked treads on the rear. Is is possible/cost effective to replace the rears with 235s and keep the 225s on the front or swap them to the rear. Any advice please as mot / service due soon looking to swap out.

235/35 or 235/40 aren't legal on a narrow 7.5J rim as you can see from the Toyo links below. You need at least an 8J rim for these tyre sizes.
