Climatronic interior temperature

Featured Replies

Hi Guys!

I have a little problem with my 2005 Octavia's Climatronic. If i set the temperature 16 or 24 degrees, always heating with full power. When i set the temp to "LOW" the air gets cold and the AC is switching on. I've done a self-test, got an "i0" message (i think it means, everything is working), done flaps reset, and check the self diagnostic menu. I found on the 1-0 channel, that the interior temp is -38 C. The temp sensor is on the climatronic panel, it's on the center knob (vent speed switch), a little black dot. If i cover it with my finger, the temp goes up to -17 C, but it's not enough, if the aircon wants 16 or higher degrees in the cabin. So the question is: Can i calibrate the sensor somehow, or i need to change the climatronic panel?

Thanks for your reply.

ps.: (sorry for my bad english, i hope u understand) :)

Is your ac refridgerant gas full? Had a similar problem and it was completely solved by it being serviced/regassed.

Yes, before summer i had small leak on AC condenser, and the service replaced it, fill the system with gas, tested it, and there was a check in September everything was fine.
With VCDS we checked the aircon, no fault code, but the interior sensor showed - 38 C, this sensor builted in the control panel. I think this may be the problem, sends a wrong signal and therefore heats it continously.

I believe so the sensor to be at fault.

Just replacement will show things ok.

Just a quick question on topic, does that sensor actually control how cold the air con gets? or is it just a monitor with no real purpose? I had the same problem as above Replaced AC condenser and regassed worked for 2 days then nothing for a month, then it works ok to the present day.
