  • Only if it's diesel, all petrol VRS (220, both 230 and 245) get the twin exhaust setup.

Easy mistake.  MP's @ Camp's or Camp MP's driving a Skoda.

Rally Success and Motorsport History really small capacity engines, and latest Fabia S2000 or R5 with AWD that only sold to 'special ones',

some short Octavia Rallying History.

Skoda tribute to it's Rally Success is to use the ;Monte Carlo' name as a Trim level, build a Mk2 vRS Fabia call it a S2000 and give an armrest and stickers as standard.

Now in 2018 turn out a Limited Edition Fabia 1.4 TSI DSG with 125ps.

'Simply Clever'.

...using your logic

Logic? That's a good 'un

Personally i quite like the poster's sense of irony. He (or she) criticises a car for 'not looking mean enough' then implies the headlights are in someway related to one's sexual orientation. Hmmm. Oh well, as long as he's happy. But when that same person uses a picture of their own car - in hairdresser white!  Very mean, very butch, sounds like a real catch for anyone on the Isle of Wight.

I agree mate. But I went for the optional paint! (Only joking, really like the grey just didn't want to wait for it)

There is only one grey finish for the Octavia :D they forgot to paint over your primer :

Drivers of both Greys and Whites need to remember to put on Head Lights / Tail Lights in poor visibility / rain / fog / snow as the rear reflectors really are not much cope.

Obviously those with the red cars or any other colour need to as well, but at least they do show up a bit better.

Colour didn't seem to matter when I had my O2 F/L vRS in Race Blue - they still pulled out on me -

Talking about those driving up roads not thinking everyone else has lights on and i am in a car with Cloak of Invisibility and no rear lights on,

but the cars in front have.

Worst i have seen other than White Range Rovers and the likes was a Grey Superb like your colour i followed for 23 miles on the A9.

She was totally invisible apart from how many times she hit the brakes as she tailgated the car in front when the snow or frozen fog was less thick.

Love that colour on a vRS, looks great. I think it somehow suits the FL really well too.

I prefer the original MK3 Octavia headlights, but the facelift lights do somehow look better on the vRS.  I just can’t get past the fake twin exhaust and noise generator...

not fake on petrol cars (certainly not on my 245, i assume its same on 230), i agree sound generator though, just leave it off in custom drive mode settings

Sorry, I didn’t realise the petrol ones were real. That’s good I really don’t like the fake ones. I had been looking at getting a 1.4, but would like to save up a bit more and maybe look at petrol vRS.

i had a 1.4 vx insignia before octavia, power was adequate but had to ring its neck a big to get any progress, not driven the 1.4 octy to be honest but i believe its a good motor, for what its worth the pertrol vrs is fantastic,

Tbf that’s the first colour I’ve seen without the black pack that makes me think I wouldn’t tick that box when ordering...

It’s the colour I’d choose Rio Red, ( 2nd choice silver, 3rd quartz grey) and this ones got a spare wheel and heated seats which I would choose when ordering.

I’m only £22k short of buying it..

I've had pre and post FL mk3's and the FL lights and everything I love - the only thing I would really like to do is modify the back end to look VRS like as I like the symmetry of the exhausts so, as the car is going to be a keeper, may invest, when necessary, in a VRS back bit (scuttle??) and a twin exhaust not the exhaust 1 side plus a fake to match on the other.

Could be a long time coming though as I had my Mk2 for 10 years and never needed a new exhaust.

1 other thing I would like to have is the sweeping indicators of the Audi but that ain't going to happen.

Being new to Skoda I've obviously missed this facelift debate. I know looks are 100% subjective, but have to say all those cars you people have posted above look great to me and much better than many new cars on sale today. The alternative estates I'd been looking at were Golf GTD, Passat GT, Megane Signature, SEAT Leon, 3 series Touring and Mazda 6. With the exception of the BMW, to my eyes at least, the fl Octavia blows all of those cars clean out the water when it comes to the looks dept.

Just wondering if these critics really are  offended by the fl model or is it just simply their way of displaying envy / jealousy at others having something newer than them?

Last paragraph I couldn’t of put it better myself.

Some people just don't like change, in the same way some people rushed to buy the last Ford Cortinas when the Sierra came out.

I now think the FL looks fresh and distinctive , but admit I didn't like the first photos I saw pre-release.  I wasn't bowled over by the pre FL O3 when it arrived, its inoffensive but pretty bland to my eyes. And (dare I say it) far too similar to the Rapide.

I guess the bottom line is if you want a new Octy you'd better get used to it, they won't be reversing the FL.

Oh and regarding the police (courtesy of Wikimedia Commons):
