Kessy remote - what does it look like?

Featured Replies

Hi,

What does the kessy remote unit look like? I can't see a definitive image online. Does it have the spring-loaded flip-out key, or is the emergency key pulled out if needed?

Any issues with the system? I'm thinking of speccing it on the SE Technology I'm hoping to order this week :)

Cheers.

Clearer title

It looks the exact same as the regular key.

As above - no difference visually from the outside. Still has 3 buttons, spring loaded flip key etc. That will be why you think you can't find it, but you've probably looked at loads already :D

Thanks both.

Having driven Nissan and Renault hire cars with something more akin to a thick credit card, I just thought it might be more low profile, as the physical key aspect is just there for emergency.

Laziness on VWs part here, even the Golf gets the same. So it's not a cost cutting thing that Skoda frequently suffer in some areas.

Have to admit I was slightly disappointed initially. My brother has a ford focus which is years older, yet has a much slimmer and smaller key for keyless with an emergency blade inside that pulls out. Ahh well, Octavia is better in every other way :)

Yep, my Nissan Leaf's keyless entry key is light and slim. When I'm taking the tube, I can remove easily it by using the emergency key release.

I've moved the Skoda key to a separate keyring, it's too bulky and heavy, also can't easily remove it. It doesn't make sense to carry it around when don't need it.

My Mrs has a new Mini Clubman Cooper S and that is keyless entry, has a very small emergency key that clips in the remote - but the remote is huge - much larger than my Octavia Key.
