Options for Turbo

That is a very good point and understand exactly where you are coming from, like for example what happens if the car is sitting for a long time, the oil would eventually drain back into the sump but the amount of effort and money I’ve thrown into it which I’ve struggled to afford I can’t afford for “why didn’t I do that” scenarios

Dude, that's fine, I'm an engineer, I say engineering stuff, not mindless garage fitter guff. Reality isn't a mystery if you look at it closely enough.

  • Personally I can’t see anything wrong here

  • I also believe it isn’t necessary however I wouldn’t want to be tearing it apart again that’s for sure, good to be overly cautious rather than it will be okay

  • Better to be safe, some places specify the turbo needs to be filled by syringe of oil before starting for first time.

I understand completely where your coming from and appreciate your input and sharing your knowledge I really do - I’m sure it will be fine but for a sake of pulling a fuse cranking couple of times before firing just to make sure isn’t much of an issue, like you say when the CHRA is balanced it wouldn’t be done dry (well I hope not) but still it’s a different ball game when I’ve spent hours after work trying to sort this car out, no dinner for a few nights finishing at midnight etc getting everything done I can’t afford for a worst case scenario that’s all - my car is stopping me doing my second job, my second job which provides me with the extra income I need right now so need it running smoothly as fast as possible and can’t afford for anymore **** ups, it’s been two weeks already

Cars running!! Got an almighty boost leak can hear it hissing from behind the dashboard, think it’s the one off the turbo, the metal pipe that connects to the Boost pipes under the car, do you have to retain this metal pipe with standard 90 degree boost hose or is there a way to use silicone pipes?
