Oil service now!

Featured Replies

Why is my Fabia shouting at me every time I get in and out of the car that it wants an oil service?

It should be every 10,000 miles or 1 year, whichever comes first.

It's done 17,800 miles and the next year is up on March 1st (bought 1st March 2016).

It’s actually every 9400 miles on a fixed service schedule.

I would think it was on the extended service regime and it was not reset

when the first service was done.

Yeah yeah I would say that’s right. I’m only going of what I’ve done with my 2016 TSI 90.

Hy to all!

When we bought our Fabia 1.2 tsi 110hp monte carlo on march 2017. dealer told us that we have free servicen first five years and that first service is or after one year or after 1500km. This days we have 15200km and I called service and they told me if service nottification didnt show up on car display than the lease company wont pay for service because from this year skoda extended service to 30000km and till then they told me taht swrvice is not neccessery....

Then I went check what it sais in car sistem and it say that service is for 14800km or 430days so it is fix service for 30000km.

Is in yours same or?

P.s I just recive call from service and they now told me that fabia 1.2 tsi have fixed service schedule for 15000 km and that I shuld come for service and they will cover it. I didnt told them that service option is on 30000km in car service system...

Will se what happens when I get there hehe...

Also I wonder is this service interval adjustable maybe with VCDS or something else?

I am planing to have this car for long long time and I belive that one year is long enaugh foe oil change and small service to keep car runing...

Well the next thing I have to do is shop around for the cheapest service at a NW England Skoda dealership. My local one charges £279.

'A major service is carried out every 24 months or 20,000 miles, whichever comes sooner'.

Which is why your 372 day post was odd.

On fixed servicing it is 9,400 miles / 372 day.   A year and a week,

because the cars Fixed Servicing leaves time from being set at a PDI to be handed over.

& also allows for the 12 months later and holidays, getting booked in etc.   Just how it is.

The cars leave the Factory with Oil & Servicing at Variable / Flexible Service Intervals.

As to that £279 Major Service price, @ Participating Dealers, cars over 3 years etc,

you can negotiate cheaper, and if your car is under 3 years old / 20,000 miles and not getting spark plugs, air filter changed, then £279 is robbery.

So get menu servicing maybe, Minor Service plus the Pollen Filter.

That link on RickW's posting, maybe I'm missing the point, but is the part that shows a hoover not just Skoda being honest and saying that they will clean out your wallet?
