Power Steering Failure

Featured Replies

After doing transmission work on my Skoda Octavia, I lost my power steering. I now have to use a lot of physical efforts to steer the car. Can anyone tell me what may be the problem. Someone suggested it may be the steering angle sensor. any suggestions?

It's an electromechanical power steering. I had a scan done which reveals fault codes, when cleared they just reappear again and the RED STEERING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD STAYS ON

Sounds like there is a fault somewhere ;)

Might be worth adding the fault codes and checking you've not disturbed any power steering connectors when you did the transmission work.

The fault code is 00573 , - steering torque sensor. If this is correct, please say.
