Fabia vRS MPG survey

Featured Replies

hello strangers.

how it all going?

Right i've a feeling my fab isnt giving the mpg it should be.

I do around 520miles a week and my car is only giving about 450 to the tank, and i'm sure when it was new i was getting alot more than that.

So i was wondering if everyone could post up there comp readings over a full tank's use.

I'll post mine when i've done a tank.

AVG Speed.

Total Miles.

AVG MPG.

Thanks everyone

Hi,

I can get about 500 miles out of a tank but most of my time is spend on A-roads with very little town driving.

Currently, my figures are:

Average Speed 36mph

Average MPG 51.4

I have a pretty heavy right foot so that's not bad really.

Doesn't sound too bad to me but it depends a lot on driving style. The only way to accurately measure it is to fill it up to the same point preferably at the same pump and then calculate miles/fuel used. I get around 42 mpg out of mine with a Custom Code 1 remap so I'm happy enough. I find the vRS's trip computer 1 to 2 mpg over optimistic on brim to brim calculations. I had a Picasso 90 bhp HDi before and didn't get any more than that.

hi, over here on the twisty, bumpy roads of the isle of wight i averaged 47.9 mpg out of my first tank of fuel, filled up at 400 miles on trip, said i had at least another 75 miles to go,,,,:) use to get 30mpg out of my rav 4

In the vRS i average 43mpg over a tank of fuel. Thats driving around town most of the time. Which compared to the 32mpg i get out of my 1.5 Suzuki Swift is damn good IMO.

Im getting 32mpg LOL

Never less than 50mpg. Sticking to the nsl on an A road for 50 miles regularly returns 55-58mpg. These figures are from the onboard comp, however I think that the Fab has a 10 gallon tank therefore I would expect to travel over 500 miles on a tank. As we all know this is not the case. 450 miles to a tank is a more reasonable figure. I think this equates to about 45mpg in the real world.

Anywhere between 300-500 miles per tank

32,000 miles in my first year!!

around 51 MPG - probably 90% motorway at NSL+10/15

I average out at around 43 mpg during these winter months.

Still a lot better than the 25 mpg average from my M3 on the same roads and driving style

Most I ever got from a tank was 420 miles

well i do 26miles a day on A road's (dual carrige ways) then mixture at weekends.

It just worried me how its gone down alot since new, and its only 10months old...admitidly its on 16k

still i think it shiould be better than what i'm getting.

Best from tank full 450, worst 130.

Average 44mpg (actually measured, not from OBC) which usually gives about 400miles to the tank.

Still only got 4000miles on the clock though.

my clio has a 10 litre tank and roughly does 400 miles to a tank. roughly 44mpg on the comp. And thats a 1.2 16v. So i will be very happy to match this is my Fabia VRS......when it arrives.

45 mpg after 8000 miles.

usually get about 45mpg to a tank. could get a lot better but have a heavy right foot. most from a tank is 440 on a motorway run. around town im getting between 330 - 350.

No matter how I drive it is over 400 miles per tank. This is 300 miles per week motorway driving at 80 ish.

I did drive experimentally at 65 and got close to 500 but was boring as hell and felt dangerous so stopped after one week.

Compared to my old citroen zx 1.9d which returned about 600 miles from £30 (constantly thrashed - them old diesels had to be to over take wildlife etc) £40 for 400 miles is expensive for me, BUT it IS a performance-ish car so not too worried...

Average over 18600 miles in 10 months = 46 MPG (from obc)

HTH

is everyone including the reserve in the full tank? i fill up usually as soon as the light comes on so it only takes about £30. im sure i could get into the 400+ miles if i go right to the bottom of the tank but never have. anyway it would only cost me more to fill it the next time so the comparison would be the same. so 330-350 miles on £30 doesnt seem that bad now.

42mpg average over the last two months, spent in the main driving in and around London.

35-45 mpg for me 14000 miles on the clock, mainy town driving and usually get between 350-370 mile per fill up

As a "low MPG" Octavia owner ;)... how much does it cost to fill a Fabia with derv from empty?

As a "low MPG" Octavia owner ;)... how much does it cost to fill a Fabia with derv from empty?

When the light comes on around

9.5p per mile seems pretty good - better than the 12p per mile I get :(

9.5p per mile seems pretty good - better than the 12p per mile I get :(

So say over 1 year (15,000 miles)

Fabia vRS 0.095p x 15000 =
