Hands free bluetooth kit and phone stays in my pocket ;)

Who cares about mounting a phone in a fabia? Far more important things to mount in a fabia, ya know! :P

I have no handsfree, so mine stays zipped up in my pocket. :o

But you end up looking like an extra on Startrek

It's a car kit so no unsightly headset. The speaker is in the passenger footwell and the mike is behind the electric sunroof switch's panel :D

Hence your comment on shouting at the roof

hav parrot ck3100 carkit in both my cars and its magnificent, voice dialling actually works, digital display, discreet screen and an absolute gift to fit, check them out on ebay, best kit by far IMO and you can have upto 6 phones paired with it, all using individual phonebooks and voice dials.

Pixi, it has to be the bluetooth kit me duck.....

Besides most people know your on your mobile and dont think your talking to yourself - hell I sing in my car and get all sorts of looks, face?

I have this phone and it's mounted to a bury car kit. I like this kit as you can change the cradle rather than the whole kit when you change phones as I've had 3 since it was installed.

I also have a 6310i and Qtek 2020 PDA/phone cradles!

Ideal as I have this kit in my Octavia too.

I will take some pics tommorrow if I get chance

I have my phone in a Brodit mount that's attached over the driver's side center air vent using a Brodit Pro Clip.

Glad I'm not the only one :D Bet you don't make popstar kind of faces when you're singing tho :o

I've mounted a phone in my wife's Fabia Estate Elegance & had some problems in doing so, there's a whole thread about it somewhere.

My wife has a Nokia 8310 ("Old Hat" now I know but she likes that phone and doesn't want to change it) and I got an official Nokia car kit on ebay for £5 so there's some advantages to having an old phone !

Anyway, I had the same problem where to mount it ?

My wife's car has a slide out drawer below the cd/radio and all the dash mount brackets I tried either fouled the drawer or the glove box lid with the phone cradle attached.

So I made up my own bracket and mounted it to the gear lever tunnel (all screws on the inside out of sight so as not to leave any marks after removal) the microphone was hidden in the grill next to the courtesy light and the whole thing was integrated to the radio to use the radio speakers and auto mute the radio during a call.

There's a picture HERE of the install before I finally tidied up the wiring. The wiring cannot now be seen as it runs straight from the bottom of the cradle down inside the gearbox tunnel.

The phone is simple to operate in this position with one touch or voice dialling available and auto answer for incoming calls.

Sound quality is good on both incoming and outgoing calls and the phone is not easily seen by theiving scum without looking down into the car.

HTH

Phone sits in the pocket in the side of the passenger seat; BT handsfree is in the console drawer until needed.

Ive got a HCB - 700 Bluetooth hands free kit, so my phone stays in my pocket.

Calls come straight throught my head unit, and i dont need to speak to the roof!!!

Where's your mike located? :D

Chris

its located next to the interior light (fabia). The mike is very sensitive and people can hear me when i whisper.

The unit is great, and even has caller display. Using a nokia n70 with it even though its a sony erricsson kit.

all things work exept the phone book scrolling.

So like me, you're still talking to the roof ;)

Chris

point taken..lol.....

anyhow, dont we all talk upward when requesting budget approval from the SWIMBO :D

With the cigarette lighter located where it is do you guys not find this a pain in the butt?

Oh, and I don't want one of those horrendous big speaker things that plug into the lighter either.

Where's the pix then? ;)

I tried mounting a 6230i in the O2 shop, but they called the cops and started mentioning public indecency etc etc

Phone mount bolted to right hand radio trim strip - OK I've had to drill holes in it but it's cheap to replace.

4 way adaptor plugged into lighter socket and located under console.

Charger plugged into adaptor and phone mount

Wired handsfree plugged into phone mount and clipped to air vent

Bluetooth headset housed in tray.

Somewhat Heath Robinson but cheap and very usable.

NOTE I'VE FOUR TIMES TRIED TO UPLOAD A 35K JPG PHOTO OF ALL THIS BUT THE SITE'S REFUSING TO ACCEPT IT!

[addendum - uploading of attachments through answering a topic should make them appear auotmatically with the response - however in my case I'm currently getting "Upload of file failed." - I'll see where I can report that elsewhere]

As Promissed a few piccies of my hands free.
