    She's arrived!

  • In an interesting turn of events, I now no longer have an SE L on order, but have a lovely new Scout ready to pick up on 1st Sept, so reading this thread with interest!

  • Good choice.    I have picked up our scout plate January. We test drove the kodiaq during the dealer VIP event but the demo was a 1.4tsi sel auto, it drove well but felt slightly under power

Wow! That's a nice looking vehicle. Running boards make it look that bit lower. I bet it's good to see the result of all the time and effort putting the spec together. Enjoy!

Blooming 'eck! Your Octy Scout had piled the beef on. B)

Either the Kodiaq or Karoq were looking to be my next vehicle, but with the issues I've had with my current vehicle, I wouldn't touch another VAG vehicle unless it contained the entire VAG board and was perched on the edge of the world's tallest building.

If you'll let me tie the BMW board to the bumper by their scrotums, I'll gladly help you heave it over....

...or we could tie them all to Silver1011's monster bike rack and let them suck on the emissions for a few days. After all, they promised they are so clean and the C02 is so low they should have no worries about suffocating.

Have you got a thread on your issues with the Octy Scout? I'd be curious to read up on your issues.

It was the Octavia's fault I'm in a black Kodiaq now!

No dedicated thread yet, though I've mentioned a few issues I've suffered/experienced in response to other threads.

Basically just when I think I can see an end in sight either SUK or a dealer throws a curveball and I have to start from scratch.

Tried to go through the normal channels, but got a massive fob off, so have been informed of another avenue that I'm currently in the process of compiling a letter of complaint. It's costing me a fortune in ink, paper and postage!

One I feel I have a resolution or can take it no further I'll put it in a thread.

I warn you though, War & Peace is a novella compared to this.

I know there has been quite some debate on whether Kodiaq's with the factory fit tow bar get an uprated battery (plus alternator and radiator).

Here is a picture of the battery on my 2018 1.4 150PS TSI...

If there is anyone willing to take a picture of their battery on a 1.4 TSI Kodiaq without the towbar should mean we can know for sure.

Looks good that. I have the scout in moon white, think i should have got it with running boards now!

It's not too late ;)

I'm not sure about factory fitted, but i know they have to cut some pieces off underneath to get to the mounting points when installed afterwards, no way i'm allowing anyone to do that! You can get running boards from aftermarket quite cheap (in comparison) but i'm still not convinced they are worth £900 and would add enough value for me in usage and sell-on. They do add a nice touch though.

Check out this related thread, no cutting or hacking needed for the genuine Skoda running boards, I guess this contributes towards their higher cost.

I was very pleased to take a look under the car to see how clean and bespoke their fitment was...

Got myself a set of the carpet mats for the rearmost row of seats.

£20 delivered. Not the highest quality carpets I've seen but they'll do the job...

Nice. I bought some cheap(er) rubber mats to go over my carpets as the kids have a habit of dropping stuff. Also got a nice blood liner.

Slightly off topic - but still relevant - when they say that the Edition comes with Textile mats does this include the mats for the third row?  Also why do the insist on giving you textile mats on the premium models when the rubber ones are so much better at keeping the car clean?

Do you have a link to the rubber mats

I believe the rubber ones are actually more expensive than the textile ones? Def prefer them.

None of the Kodiaq models come with these carpet mats for the third row as standard. If carpet mats are listed as included they'll be for the front and middle row only.

Textile or carpets mats are seen as premium, probably as they're soft and a little less agricultural.

Whilst the rubber mats are better for mud, snow and wet boots etc. they aren't typically viewed as a 'premium' solution.

I have both, the Scout came with the carpet mats as standard, which I use during the dry, summer months, I'll then swap to the rubber ones in winter.

It doesn't matter which mats you have, if like me you have young kids, the back of the car gets filthy.

This is a god send though, on our Octavia it was always the raised transmission tunnel that took the brunt of the ground-in debris, as it wasn't covered with a mat like the footwell is. The best £12 I spent :D

Part number: 565061580.

It's £15 here but shop around, I got mine from my local dealer for less...

I have had full rubber mats and the transmission tunnel cover in each of my Superbs and the same is on the cards for the Kodiaq - once it arrives!
