Guide checking power steering fluid reservoir . Battery

Featured Replies

The power steering reservoir is located on near side, front left side of car looking ahead of driving position.

It is opaque so removing the plastic wheel arch cover will not help you see the fluid level.

To access it you need to remove the battery, the battery tray. I loosened the air duct  scoop  going to the air filter removing two torx 6 sided star screws. T25or 25 size.

There is a plastic cage over the battery with wires attached. This needs removing.  A screwdriver flat end will unclip clips on the cage and there is a tT25or right to remove. A clamp near front of battery will need bolt removing 14mm hex. 10mm nut holding + and - terminals. Remove - first then +. Reconnect + then -.

There are 2 or 3 other hex bolts 12mm and 14mm sizes are rear of battery this will allow the battery tray to be removed. One 14mm at the center of the tray. One of the 3 bolts at rear of the battery simply has rubber around it and can just be pulled up over it. It is not unscrewable.
