How can I Reset the airbag light using a bluetooth odb2(ELM327) and a phone/laptop? I dont have VCDS.

 

Any apps or software that work?

I think you can't do that without using VCDS or VAG-COM (maybe some versions of Bosch or Delphi can help, but not necessarily)

Kind of expected that. Would something like this work?

check the vcds owners map for someone close by, or put your location on your profile so someone can offer.

I used carista to reset my airbag warning light (after removing the media  system surround)

Carista worked perfectly. Had to subscribe to erase faults, but got a free trial week, which I can cancel.

 

Took less than a minute. Saved me a lot of time and hassle.

I used Carista on a kamiq in order to reset the airbag light. Work out perfectly, saving a trip to the dealer

To avoid setting off the airbag light simply disconnect the battery before unplugging the airbag light next time.
