Skoda Yeti Flat Bottom Steering Wheel

Featured Replies

Last Friday I replaced my steering wheel, by an Original Skoda flat bottom version. (5E0064241j fmk)

Eventhough the supplier advised it would be plug and play, I still needed to exchange the control

knobs from my old wheel, since Skoda slightly changed the layout as from w22/15.

photo 2 red Arrows hightlight the differences.

Loving the white wheels!

Original Skoda type Hawk 17 inch White.

Very nice B)

I expect the new wheel is actually from a MQB platform car such as a MK3 Octavia or MK3 Superb rather than a Yeti...

What's the part number on the new buttons?

Nah, the buttons in my 2014 Yeti are the same as the flat bottom version.

Just to clarify, which buttons does your Yeti have, is it:

- Input select on the left and voice control on the right (first image)

- Voice control on the left and assistants on the right (second/third image)

First image, input selection on the left, voice control right.

I take it the top picture is after they were changed over.
My early 2015 is the same as the top picture.

That's what I expected, the image from the OP is after they have swapped the buttons over so they are using their original buttons on the new flat bottomed wheel.

I still think the wheel was originally from a MK3 Octavia/Superb but once we get the part number of the removed buttons it'll be easier to confirm.

The first photo are my old buttons, since the new version did not work (assume you have to reprogramme)

langers2k, the part number of the new version w22/15 control knobs is 5eo 419 685 A fod 307764415w29-AB

manufactured 15.01.2018.

The shipping box indicates Octavia 5E Fabia N Rapid NH and Kodiaq NS. (5E0064241j fmk)

I advised the seller my vinnumberand they confirmed a perfect fit for a Yeti 2014 and buttons would be Plug and Play,

the later is not the case.

Interested in why you have gone for a flat bottomed wheel?

I have one in the TT where the increased clearance between the wheel and seat is useful when getting in and out particularly as I'm quite tall, but in the Yeti that isn't an issue.

When spinning the wheel in the TT I sometimes find the flat bottom is awkward when passing through my hands and think a round wheel is better from that point of view.

The Monte Carlo I was given for an extended test drive of a diesel dsg had this type of wheel, which was also an optional extra on the car I was buying, the sel Drive.

Didn't see the point myself and actually prefer the smooth surface of the standard waeel that came with my car

Hi, I have just done the same mod on my Yeti, using a wheel from a Fabia Monte Carlo - I need to swap over the switches, but am unsure how to remove the piano black trim that covers them. Can you tell me how you removed the trim? Thanks
