Wear and tear or product fault?

Featured Replies

I have a 2016 VRS petrol and have noticed that it has a crack appear in the centre of the steering wheel where you press the horn.

Below the emblem!

Is therhis his wear and tear or a fault replaceable on warranty?

thanks

Must be hitting the horn too much or too hard. Are you a taxi driver? That is a bit hairline, don't think it would bother me already got a stone chip right in my line of sight in my 2017 VRS.

No. Second owner.

Does this part just pull off / hinged?

wonder what the cost of a replacement would be?

I'd have said something's wrong with that and I'd be taking it back to Skoda for their opinion.

I'm not too sure how they could class that as wear and tear - but they'll try!

Isn't it part of the airbag?

Well, yes, moreover the airbag is part of it.

yeah thats a deliberate split line (or weak point) for ease of airbag deployment.

a few of our older tranny vans had similar happenings, to the point when you could see the airbag underneath. Must have been a faulty batch we had.
